The Office of Technology Management

Graphic Designer | 05/2007 - 06/2008

Created annual reports, brochures, fliers, trade-show booth graphics, print advertisements and website designs to promote new technologies created at the University of Illinois and marketing materials to raise awareness about the office.

Lead designer on redesign of aesthetically cohesive websites for the office, its sister office in Chicago and a portal page also serving as a website for the Vice President of Technology and Economic Development for the University of Illinois.

Worked in a team-oriented environment to meet the needs of seven different managers. Design process involved research, collaboration with scientists and translators, working with stock and original photography and digital illustrations.

Designed a cohesive, unique and recognizable campaign including posters, bookmarks and print advertisements for the biannual Carr Reading Series. Responsibilities included conceptualization, design and overseeing of printing.

Maintained website for Japanese cultural center using Adobe Dreamweaver. Responsibilities included updating content and sustaining University compliance and ADA web standards.


Freelance Design
Graphic Designer | 08/2004 - Present

Collaborated with musical group Headlights, Polyvinyl Records, and local artist Elzie Sexton on LP and CD packaging design for album “Some Racing Some Stopping” and promotional design for album including apparel, posters, buttons and stickers.

Created identity for Project 500 and designed promotional materials and web banner commemorating its 40th anniversary in conjunction with a black alumni all classes reunion.

Designed and developed a website for the non-profit jewelry boutique, Trillium, to showcase jewelry and raise awareness about the boutique’s efforts to help fight cancer.

Worked remotely with research scientist, Sarah M. Paul on business card and flier design to promote her work and attract potential employers.

Volunteered with local humane society by designing print fliers and e-mail newsletters to promote the adoption of overweight felines.


Staske Photography
Graphic Designer & Photo Editor | 09/2003 - 10/2005

Principal graphic designer for a portrait studio. Responsibilities consisted of marketing design and strategy, lighting assistance, candid photography, extensive digital retouching using Adobe Photoshop, pre-flight of files, production and framing.
