I attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 2004 through 2008 where I received my BFA in Graphic Design. My favorite course was taught by Professor John Jennings, who created the first-of-its-kind course, Hip Hop Design.

While I was in school, I interned with three different campus units to gain as much design experience as I could during my four years at the University. At the Creative Writing Department I created promotional graphics for events, at the Office of Technology Management I designed publications, and at The Japan House cultural center I managed their website.

Previous Experience

After graduating, I moved to Washington, DC where I worked for the Center for American Progress for three and a half years. I managed print production, designed publications, and created web graphics. I met some incredibly talented people who I still work with in other realms today.

In 2012, I accepted a position as magazine designer at Sosland Publishing where I was the sole designer for three B2B magazines. The following year I decided to take the leap into freelancing
full-time and I haven’t looked back since.
